Mudhal Tiruvandādi — Poigai Āzhvār (Pāsurams 81–90)

Poigai Āzhvār opens this set with reassurance. When grace speaks fearlessness, the heart steadies naturally. The verse reflects the quiet courage that arises not from control but from trust, allowing the world to exist without overwhelming the inner space. உன் அருள் துணை என உணர்ந்த பின்னே என் வழி எங்கும் வெளிச்சம் கண்டேன் துன்பம் வந்தாலும் தளரவில்லை இன்பம் வந்தாலும் மயங்கவில்லை. This pāsuram speaks of balance. Once grace is recognized as constant support, circumstances lose their power to shake the heart. The teaching is gentle maturity, relevant to anyone navigating highs and lows. என்னுள் நீ நின்றேன் என உணர்ந்தேன் உன்னை வெளியில் தேடவில்லை மண்ணும் விண்ணும் உன்னுள் என்றேன் கண்ணும் கருத்தும் தெளிந்தது. Here the search turns inward. When the Divine is felt within, external seeking ends. The verse reassures modern seekers that clarity is closer than imagined. மாறும் காலம் மயங்கினாலும் மாறாத நீ என கண்டேன் தாறும் உலகம் தளர்ந்த போதும் தாரகன் நீ என நின்றேன். Time and change lose their threat. The Divine remains unshaken. This verse comforts those unsettled by impermanence, offering stability through remembrance. எண்ணம் சிதறும் நேரம் வந்தால் உன் பேர் மருந்தாய் ஆனது வண்ணம் இன்றி மனம் நின்றது துன்பம் தூரம் போனது. Remembrance becomes medicine. Anxiety loosens its grip when the mind finds a simple anchor. The verse speaks directly to emotional healing. உறவுகள் போனால் உளைவில்லேன் பொருள்கள் போனால் பயமில்லேன் அருள் ஒன்றே எனக்கு துணை என்றேன் உலகம் இனிது ஆனது. Here detachment is not loss but freedom.
