Mūndram Tiruvandādi — Peyāzhvār (Pāsurams 41–50)

Peyāzhvār opens this set by describing how vision expands the heart rather than the world. Fear contracts the mind; grace widens it. Life feels more spacious when trust replaces anxiety. அவன் அருகே நின்று நான் நின்றேன் அவன் கருணை என்னை தாங்கியது அவன் ஒளி என் வழியை காட்டியது அவன் துணை எனக்கு நிலை ஆனது. Here the Āzhvār emphasizes proximity. Support is not distant or delayed; it is immediate. The verse reassures that grace is present, not promised. முன்னை நினைவு மெலிந்தது பின்னை பயம் சிதைந்தது இந்நாள் வாழ்வு இனிது ஆனது உன்னால் எல்லாம் சமம் ஆனது. Past and future lose their grip together. Life settles into the present. This verse gently teaches mindful living rooted in surrender. பார்த்தேன் அவனை என் சுமையில் துணை ஆனான் பார்த்தேன் அவனை என் துயரில் அருகே நின்றான் பார்த்தேன் அவனை என் தவறுகளை தாங்கினான் பார்த்தேன் அவனை என் நலம் ஆனான். Grace is recognized in patience, not punishment. The Divine does not withdraw during failure. This verse speaks directly to human imperfection with compassion. உலகம் இயங்கினாலும் உள்ளம் நின்றது சுகமும் துயரும் சமம் ஆனது நகமும் நரம்பும் அவன் ஆனது அகமும் புறமும் அவன் ஆனது. Inner stillness remains while the world moves. Extremes soften. The verse reflects emotional balance born of unity. நான் என்ற உணர்வு மறைந்த பின்னே நீ என்ற உண்மை நிலைத்தது தேடல் ஓய்ந்தது தாகம் தீர்ந்தது தேன் போன்ற அமைதி பிறந்தது. Seeking dissolves naturally. Fulfillment replaces longing. Peace arrives as sweetness, not excitement. எண்ணம் எழுந்தாலும் ஏமாற்றவில்லை வினை வந்தாலும் விழவில்லை கண்ணன் கருணை எனக்கு துணை என்றேன் நன்மை தீமை ஒன்றாய் கண்டேன். Resilience matures. Circumstances no longer define worth. Grace steadies perception beyond duality. பார்க்கும் பார்வை புனிதம் ஆனது கேட்கும் சொல் எல்லாம் இனிது ஆனது பார்க்கும் உலகம் பகை இல்லை ஆனது உள்ளம் நிறைவு கண்டது. Perception sanctifies experience. The world feels kinder as the heart fills. Judgment yields to reverence. எல்லாம் அவன் செயல் என்றேன் எல்லாம் அவன் அருள் என்றேன் என்னுள் நன்றி பெருகியது எண்ணம் அமைதி அடைந்தது. Gratitude deepens vision. Acceptance becomes effortless. The heart rests without resistance. இதுவே காட்சி இதுவே பயன் இதுவே வழி இதுவே நிலை இதுவே அவன் அருள் செய்த பத்து இதுவே எனக்கு என்றும் விளக்கு. The tenth pāsuram seals this set by affirming vision itself as refuge and light. The lamp burns steady and unwavering. These ten pāsurams continue to mature Peyāzhvār’s lamp, where divine vision reshapes perception, emotion, and daily life. The heart no longer seeks reassurance; it lives in it.
