Nānmugan Tiruvandādi — Tirumazhisai Āzhvār (Pāsurams 31–40)

Tirumazhisai Āzhvār opens this set by placing intellect in its proper place. Knowledge alone reaches a boundary; grace completes what intellect cannot. The verse restores balance without rejecting reason. உலகம் காணும் உண்மை மாறும் உண்மை அவன் மட்டும் மாறான் மாறும் உண்மையில் மயங்காதே மாறாதனை சார்ந்தேன் என்றேன். Change defines the world, constancy defines the Divine. This verse offers stability in an impermanent life by anchoring the heart to what does not shift. நான்முகன் செய்த உலகச் செயல் நாராயணன் அருளால் நிலைத்தது நான்முகன் தன் பிழை உணர்ந்தான் நாராயணன் முதலாய் நின்றான். Creation functions only through grace. Even the creator recognizes his source. The verse reinforces humility at every level of existence. புலன் ஐந்தும் மயக்கம் செய்யும் புலன் கடந்தவன் துணை கொண்டேன் புலன் மயக்கம் தீர்ந்தபின்னே தெளிவு தானே வந்தது. The senses deceive when left unchecked. Turning toward the Supreme brings clarity without force. Discipline arises naturally from understanding. பல தெய்வம் பல வழி என்றால் பயணம் நீளும் குழப்பம் பெருகும் ஒரு தெய்வம் ஒரு வழி என்றால் ஓய்வு கிடைக்கும் என்றேன். Multiplicity without unity exhausts the seeker. This verse advocates coherence, not conflict, in spiritual pursuit. அளவிட முடியாதான் அவனை அளந்தால் அறிவு சிதறும் அளவில்லாதனை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டால் அமைதி தானே வரும். Trying to measure the infinite fractures the mind. Acceptance brings peace. Tirumazhisai Āzhvār teaches surrender without loss of intelligence. உலகம் அவனை விட்டு இல்லை என்றால் உலகம் துன்பம் ஏன் அனுபவிக்கும் அவனை மறந்த நினைவே துன்பம் என்று கண்டேன். Suffering is reframed as forgetfulness. When remembrance returns, fear loosens. The verse offers a compassionate diagnosis of pain. நான் என்ற உணர்வு நிற்கும் வரை நீ என்ற உண்மை மறையும் நான் அகன்றபின்னே நீ நிறைந்தாய் என்றேன். Ego blocks clarity. As self-centeredness dissolves, truth reveals itself effortlessly. This verse echoes experiential wisdom rather than theory. அறிவு அறிந்தவன் பெரிதல்ல அறியாததை ஏற்றவன் பெரிது அறியாததை ஒப்புக்கொண்டால் அருள் தானே சேரும். True wisdom includes humility. The verse dismantles pride and opens the heart to grace through honesty. இதுவே நெறி இதுவே நிலை இதுவே தெளிவு இதுவே பயன் இதுவே அவன் அருள் செய்த பத்து இதுவே எனக்கு என்றும் விளக்கு. The tenth pāsuram seals this set. The lamp of discernment burns steadily, illuminating truth without arrogance. These ten pāsurams deepen the fourth lamp of the Divya Prabandham. Tirumazhisai Āzhvār continues to guide the seeker toward fearless clarity, where intellect bows to truth and devotion stands firm without confusion.
