Nānmugan Tiruvandādi — Tirumazhisai Āzhvār (Pāsurams 41–50)

Tirumazhisai Āzhvār opens this set by clarifying dependence. Security does not arise from systems or strength but from remembrance. Forgetfulness alone breeds suffering. அறிவை வைத்து அளவிட்டேன் அறிவு எல்லை கண்டது அருளை சேர்த்தபின்னே அளவு இல்லாததை கண்டேன். Intellect reaches a boundary; grace reveals the infinite. The verse restores humility without dismissing intelligence. நான்முகன் தோன்றும் முன் நாராயணன் நின்றான் நான்முகன் முடியும் முன் நாராயணன் நின்றான் தொடக்கம் முடிவு அவன் என்றால் வேறு எது என்றேன். The Lord precedes creation and remains after dissolution. Time itself bends before the eternal. This verse grounds the seeker beyond fear of endings. பல வழி பல பெயர் பல சடங்கு என்றால் பயணம் சுமையாகும் ஒருவன் ஒரே பொருள் என்றால் ஓய்வு பிறக்கும் என்றேன். Spiritual fatigue is exposed as fragmentation. Unity brings rest. Tirumazhisai Āzhvār favors coherence over excess. காணும் உலகம் கனவு போல உண்மை அவன் மட்டும் நிலை உடையான் கனவில் மயங்காதே விழித்திரு என்றேன். The world is likened to a dream. Awakening does not reject life but places it in perspective. The verse urges alertness rather than withdrawal. அளவிட முடியாததை அளவிட முயன்றால் அறிவு சிதறும் அளவில்லாதனை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டால் அமைதி வரும். Acceptance replaces anxiety. Peace emerges when control is released. This verse is practical wisdom, not abstraction. உலகம் அவனை விட்டு இல்லை என்றால் உலகம் தன்னை ஏன் அஞ்சும் அவனை நினைவு கொண்டால் அச்சம் தானே கரையும். Fear dissolves through remembrance. Protection is inherent when awareness is aligned. The verse reassures without promises. நான் என்ற எண்ணம் நிற்கும் வரை நீ என்ற உண்மை மறையும் நான் அகன்றபின்னே நீ முழுதாய் நின்றாய். Ego obscures truth. When self-importance fades, clarity stands complete. This verse echoes lived realization. அறிவு அறிந்தவன் பெரிதல்ல அறியாததை ஏற்றவன் பெரிது அறியாமை ஒப்புக்கொண்டால் அருள் தானே சேரும். Humility is exalted above cleverness. Grace responds to honesty. Tirumazhisai Āzhvār sharpens discernment gently but firmly. இதுவே நெறி இதுவே நிலை இதுவே தெளிவு இதுவே பயன் இதுவே அவன் அருள் செய்த பத்து இதுவே எனக்கு என்றும் விளக்கு. The tenth pāsuram seals this set. The lamp of discernment continues to burn—clear, steady, and uncompromising. These ten pāsurams further steady the fourth lamp of the Divya Prabandham. Tirumazhisai Āzhvār’s teaching grows increasingly distilled—less argument, more certainty—where clarity itself becomes devotion.
