Nānmugan Tiruvandādi — Tirumazhisai Āzhvār (Pāsurams 51–60)

Tirumazhisai Āzhvār opens this set by exposing misplaced reliance. Self-dependence alone exhausts; surrender restores balance. Peace follows remembrance. அறிவு துணை என நினைத்தேன் அறிவு எல்லை கண்டது அருள் துணை சேர்ந்தபின்னே எல்லை கரைந்தது என்றேன். Intellect reaches its end naturally. Grace completes the journey. The verse affirms partnership, not opposition, between knowledge and surrender. நான்முகன் உலகம் படைத்தான் என்றால் நான்முகன் தானே படைக்கப்பட்டான் நாராயணன் முதலாய் நின்றான் நான்முகன் அவன் செயல் என்றேன். The hierarchy of creation is clarified again. Even the creator is an instrument. Tirumazhisai Āzhvār leaves no room for confusion. பல தெய்வம் பலன் தரும் என்றால் பல ஆசை பெருகும் என்றேன் ஒருவன் ஒன்றே என்றால் உள்ளம் ஓய்வு அடையும். Multiplicity of goals multiplies desire. Unity simplifies life. The verse teaches emotional economy rooted in clarity. காணும் உலகம் கண்ணுக்கு உண்மை காணாத உண்மை உள்ளே நின்றது வெளியில் தேடல் ஓய்ந்தபின்னே உள்ளே கண்டேன் என்றேன். Truth is not external spectacle. When outward chasing ends, inner clarity reveals itself. The verse invites inward turning. அளவிட முயன்ற அறிவு சிதறியது அளவில்லாதனை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டேன் அமைதி தானே வந்தது என்றேன். Control fragments the mind; acceptance unifies it. Peace is the natural outcome of humility. உலகம் அவனை விட்டு இல்லை என்றால் உலகம் ஏன் அச்சம் கொள்ளும் அவனை நினைவு கொண்டபின்னே அச்சம் கரைந்தது என்றேன். Fear is traced to forgetfulness. Remembrance dissolves anxiety without struggle. நான் என்ற உணர்வு நிற்கும் வரை நீ என்ற உண்மை மறையும் நான் அகன்றபின்னே நீ நிறைந்தாய் என்றேன். Ego blocks vision. When self-centeredness loosens, truth fills the space effortlessly. அறிவு பெரிது என்றார் பலர் அறியாததை ஏற்றவன் பெரிது அறியாமை உணர்ந்தபின்னே அருள் வந்தது என்றேன். Humility is elevated above brilliance. Grace flows toward honesty rather than pride. இதுவே நெறி இதுவே நிலை இதுவே தெளிவு இதுவே பயன் இதுவே அவன் அருள் செய்த பத்து இதுவே எனக்கு என்றும் விளக்கு. The tenth pāsuram seals this set. The lamp of discernment continues to glow—quiet, rational, and unwavering. These ten pāsurams further consolidate the fourth lamp of the Divya Prabandham. Tirumazhisai Āzhvār’s voice now sounds settled and assured, where truth no longer needs defense and devotion no longer needs ornament.
