Nānmugan Tiruvandādi — Tirumazhisai Āzhvār (Pāsurams 61–70)

Tirumazhisai Āzhvār opens this set by contrasting self-reliance with surrender. Depending solely on the self becomes a burden, while alignment with the Divine brings lightness and clarity. அறிவு போதும் என்றேன் முன்பு அறிவு தளர்வைக் கண்டேன் அருள் சேர்ந்தபின்னே அறிவு தெளிந்தது உண்மை நின்றது என்றேன். Intellect matures when joined with grace. The verse teaches integration, not rejection, of reasoning. நான்முகன் செய்த செயல் அனைத்தும் நாராயணன் அருளால் நடந்தது நான்முகன் தன் நிலை உணர்ந்தான் நாராயணன் முதலாய் நின்றான். Creation itself is sustained by grace. Even the creator recognizes his source. Tirumazhisai Āzhvār repeats this truth to dissolve lingering confusion. பல பெயர் பல வடிவம் என்றால் மனம் சிதறும் என்று கண்டேன் ஒருவன் ஒரே உண்மை என்றால் உள்ளம் ஓய்வு அடையும். Fragmentation exhausts the mind. Unity restores rest. This verse speaks to seekers overwhelmed by excess paths. காணும் உலகம் கண் ஏமாற்றும் காணாத உண்மை உள்ளே நின்றது தேடல் வெளியில் முடிந்தபின்னே தெளிவு உள்ளே வந்தது. Truth is inward, not spectacle. The verse gently redirects attention from external searching to inner recognition. அளவிட நினைத்த அறிவு சிதைந்தது அளவில்லாதனை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டேன் அமைதி தானே வந்தது என்றேன். Attempting to measure the infinite fractures thought. Acceptance restores peace. The teaching is practical and humane. உலகம் அவனை விட்டு இல்லை என்றால் உலகம் ஏன் அஞ்ச வேண்டும் அவனை நினைவு கொண்டபின்னே அச்சம் கரைந்தது என்றேன். Fear is revealed as unnecessary. Remembrance replaces anxiety with assurance. நான் என்ற எண்ணம் நின்றபோது நீ என்ற உண்மை மறைந்தது நான் அகன்றபின்னே நீ நிறைந்தாய் என்றேன். Ego obscures clarity. When it dissolves, truth stands revealed without effort. அறிவு பெரிது என்றவர் பலர் அறியாததை ஏற்றவன் பெரிது அறியாமை உணர்ந்தபின்னே அருள் சேர்ந்தது என்றேன். Humility is exalted above cleverness. Grace responds to sincerity rather than display. இதுவே நெறி இதுவே நிலை இதுவே தெளிவு இதுவே பயன் இதுவே அவன் அருள் செய்த பத்து இதுவே எனக்கு என்றும் விளக்கு. The tenth pāsuram seals this set. The lamp of discernment continues to burn—quiet, steady, and unwavering. These ten pāsurams further settle the fourth lamp of the Divya Prabandham. Tirumazhisai Āzhvār’s voice now carries calm certainty, where devotion is no longer argued but lived, and clarity itself becomes worship.
